The Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the community in the greater Sacramento area. At Garden Valley, The Center oversees the after school expanded learning program, where we work to provide a safe and supportive environment for our students, and the families we serve. The program is free to all who qualify, and offers services such as homework assistance, structured physical activities, and a number of fun and interactive enrichment activities. We strive to provide quality care to our community by strengthening the connections between students, parents, and staff. We welcome you to check out our program, and look forward to continue serving the Garden Valley community!

Here at the expanded learning program, we offer a daily schedule that is sure to meet the needs of our students. The program accepts students from K-6th, and runs every day that school is in session. We offer a wide-range of student-friendly services that enhance the learning given during the regular school day. Students can expect to receive a free supper upon arriving to the program, before transitioning to supervise outside activities. Students are given time to work on homework as well as work on their literacy skills, in addition to participating in engaging enrichment activities, such as cooking clubs! Students will have the opportunity to learn about healthy eating habits, and the elements of STEAM, among many other things, that will work expand their knowledge about their surrounding environment!

Hello! My name is Kevin Hendricks I am the program manager for the expanded learning program at Garden Valley. In my role, I work to serve as a bridge between students, parents, teachers, and the Garden Valley staff. I enjoy bringing new and exciting opportunities to the expanded learning program, and am always looking for ways I can better assist the Garden Valley community. It is my goal to provide a consistent home for students to learn and grow, and I look forward to helping grow the Garden Valley community in any way I can!
